Manual firing with wood and coal

The Sukom R18 is designed for solid fuels such as logs and coal. You can easily refill the fuel through the spacious centre door. This classic way of firing gives you complete control over the combustion process and makes the boiler particularly suitable for users who want to use their own wood supply.

Would you like to prepare for a switch to modern fuels? The door has an opening for the installation of a pellet, oil or gas burner. This means you do not have to replace the boiler, but can flexibly switch to another type of fuel.

High efficiency thanks to three-pass system

The boiler is built according to the so-called three-pass system. This means that the combustion gases flow three times past the water-filled chambers before being discharged through the chimney.

• First heat transfer: radiation in the spacious combustion chamber
• Second heat transfer: radiation and convection via the water-cooled walls
• Third heat transfer: convection and conduction in the flue channels.

This design maximises heat transfer and limits heat loss. In combination with optional turbulators, the efficiency can reach up to 92%.

Strong construction and insulation

The Sukom R18 has a robust boiler construction, well insulated with mineral wool. This keeps the heat in the boiler and prevents energy loss. The exterior is protected with durable paint or powder coating. This guarantees a long service life, even with intensive use.

Use and control

The air supply for wood and coal is controlled by a mechanical draught regulator. This moves the air damper in the lower door and adjusts the amount of combustion air to the fuel. This ensures a stable and efficient combustion process. When using a pellet, oil or gas burner, the air is automatically controlled by the burner and its control system.

The Sukom R18 is designed for the production of heating water with a standard operating temperature of 90/70 °C and can operate at a maximum pressure of 2.5 bar.

Safety and protection

For safety reasons, the boiler can be equipped with a safety valve to prevent excessive pressure and a special cooling coil (safety heat exchanger) that activates automatically in an emergency to prevent overheating. This ensures safe use at all times, even under high loads.
